Type two letters or more and choose a name from the list, or press Enter to take the first suggestion. The search covers the whole cast in both modes, so it never hints at the answer. Each guess becomes a row of eight tiles: Species, Gender, Grade, Affiliation, Clan, Arc, Ultimate and Power.
Green means that trait matches and red means it does not. Grade turns orange when your guess sits right next to the answer on the game's rank ladder, which starts with devils and Wizard Kings and runs down through captains and the Magic Knight ranks. Arc is the arc a character debuted in, Clan is their noble house or people, and Ultimate asks whether they have a signature ultimate form or technique. The Power tile shows an arrow pointing up if the answer is stronger and down if weaker.
After three guesses you can reveal the answer's affiliation, after five a blurred portrait, and after seven the first letter of their name. The puzzle resets at midnight UTC, and signed-in players are ranked on that mode's board by attempts and time.
Tips to Solve CloverDLE in Fewer Guesses
Start with a character who splits the field. Species separates the human majority from elves, devils and spirits, and Affiliation tells you whether you are dealing with one of the nine Magic Knight squads, the Clover Kingdom's royals and citizens, the Eye of the Midnight Sun or a foreign kingdom. Noelle Silva makes a strong Easy opener: squad, house and rank all carry information.
Treat the Power arrow like a binary search. If a junior Magic Knight points up, jump straight to a captain or a villain. Arc narrows things fast too: the Magic Knights Entrance arc introduced a large share of the cast, while a green on a later arc like the Spade Kingdom Raid cuts the list to a handful.
Save the portrait hint for when you are torn between two or three names. Hair colour and silhouette usually survive the blur.
